One thing that I definitely hold dear is the time that I get to spend with my family during the holidays. There is just so much going on in the world that's bad, but when I'm with my family it seems like time stops and nothing else matters. I also especially love it when our gatherings mean eating some really great food. So Thanksgiving is one of my favorites, but this year we're doing something different and going to see the Thanksgiving Day parade in New York!
I've never seen the parade in person before and it's been years since I'd taken the family there, so I thought this would be something extra special for us to do. When I was online booking some last minute stuff for it, I saw some information on Miracle Ear. After I looked through it a little bit I decided to go and get fitted with some hearing aids. TheyÕre something I've put off getting for years now anyway.
We're not only going to the Thanksgiving parade while we're there, but we're also going to go and see a Broadway play so it's extra important to have made sure that I got those hearing aids before we go on the trip.
Thanks for the post from Sylvester Campbell
My parents have owned a furniture store in upstate New York my entire life and I don't think they've updated how things work in over 20 years. My mom still does all of the accounting on an old paper ledger and the both of them seemed really reluctant to learn anything about computers. My sister and I decided it was time to take things into her own hands and finally updated some of the business financials. I couldn't believe it: my parents didn't even take credit cards! I looked into the options at bank-card-processing.com and found a provider that we can charge my parents an arm and a leg and I think they're really excited about taking the business to the next level. I know their customers are going to be really glad to hear they don't have to have massive sums of cash to buy furniture at my parents’ store anymore! This was my Christmas gift to them this year, so they better be extra thankful!

When the winter comes, it's not all fun and games - I need to prepare for the season by making sure we have all the winter clothes available, getting emergency supplies, and so on. One of the most important things I have to do is winterize my home. Not only does this keep the house toasty warm throughout the season, but I also see ENERGY SAVINGS CORP ontario overall.
The first thing I do is exchange my storm door. I remove the one with a screen window and replace it with a door with a glass window. This lets me keep the door open if I need it without fear of a draft.
There are a few rooms upstairs that have drafty windows. I eventually want to get them replaced, but for now I just put plastic up around the window to keep the cold air out. This saves me a ton of money in home energy costs throughout the season, because if the cold could get in, I'd have to constantly heat those upstairs rooms to keep them comfortable.
I then set the energy settings on my thermostat to keep the temperature of the home at a comfortable but mild temperature. This frees me up from having to constantly fiddle with the temperature as the temperature outside changes.
I also get all my winter equipment together - salt, shovels, and sand - in preparation for the first storm of the year!
College Football without a doubt is one of the more popular college sports these days. Everyone loves to root for his or her favorite team and I am no exception. Being a Nebraska Cornhusker fan since 1969, I have seen many great players come through Nebraska. Names like Johnny Rodgers, Irving Fryar, Turner Gill, Tommy Fraizer, and Ndamukong Suh. All were great players who wore the familiar red N on the side of their helmet. Nebraska has had a tradition of great teams and new coach Bo Pelini is continuing that tradition at Nebraska.
I watch Nebraska Cornhuskers on satellite tv so I do not miss a minute of the action I love it cause I can cancel my starz super pack during the season! Nebraska has been in the Big 12 for a while, but this will be their last year as they are moving to the Big 10. One thing that has always stood out about Nebraska Cornhusker football is the determination the players have when they put on that helmet. They seem to always give their best no matter the situation and that is one thing that fans like me never forget. Through the years, Nebraska has had many great players and coaches. I do not look for that to quit anytime soon as Nebraska Cornhusker football is some of the best in the country.
Michigan State has one of the best football teams in Michigan. No matter what, I will always think that Michigan State has a better football team than the University of Michigan. There is just something about Michigan State's drive to succeed as a team that thoroughly has always impressed me. Plus, the team always plays with heart compared to the University of Michigan. In the last few years, the University of Michigan has suffered from a severe loss of passion and heart for the game of football. The players just do not seem that into it anymore, while Michigan State has greatly increased in its intensity and ambition for the game of football.
I love everything about Michigan State football. One of my favorite games to go to is the Michigan State and the University of Michigan game. I love being in the stadium and watching the competition between the two groups of fans. I do not think I have ever seen a rivalry greater than Michigan State and the University of Michigan. It is actually hilarious to hear some of the name calling that goes on within that stadium! It gets so intense, but at the end of the day all of the fans actually support each other because it's a Michigan team.
I love watching Michigan State play football on my Direct tv too. It's a blast to have friends over to watch the games!
Today's Scripture
“Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?” (Daniel 6:20b).
Most people won’t ever literally come face to face with a hungry lion, but we’ve all been in situations where we feel like we are about to be “eaten up” or destroyed. Daniel lived a life of excellence and found favor with the king. The king kept promoting him and giving him more authority which made the other administrators jealous and angry. They manipulated the king into signing a law that Daniel could not follow. Daniel prayed and still found himself in the lion’s den. How would you respond in that situation? I’m sure Daniel believed that God would deliver Him. I’m sure he hoped it would be before he was thrown into that den. Have you ever prayed and prayed for something and it looked like things just kept getting worse? Daniel trusted that God was working His plan for His glory. In the end, Daniel was protected and his enemies were destroyed. When it looks like your friends have turned on you and you are headed for the lions’ den, don’t be discouraged because God has the final say. Keep believing Him, keep trusting Him. He’s promised to never leave you nor forsake you. He’ll shut the mouth of the lion; He’ll silence your accusers; He’ll stand with you in the fire, and He will lead you into victory in every area of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, You are my Light in dark times. I thank You for Your faithfulness and trust that You have a wonderful plan for my life. No matter how things seem, I will put my hope and trust in You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
